Jim Williams, board member of the Historical Society was introduced to the Commission. The Historical Society is interested in establishing a permanent office location and is contemplating Steam Pump Ranch. Mr. Williams informed the Commission that membership is increasing so the Historical Society is interested in having a liaison attend future HPC meetings.
Chair Thomae defined the landmark according to the Town's code. The Commissioners discussed penalties placed by other jurisdictions. The idea to create incentives rather than consequences was proposed for future discussion.
Commissioner Crane described the process that she and Ms. Lynanne Dellerman incurred to create the draft application. She focused on the checklist and items on the draft allowing the Commissioners clarification and the opportunity to make changes. Commissioner Crane agreed to implement changes and finalize the draft for future review.
No discussion or action due to the absence of Commissioner Ohlson.
Director Kristy Diaz-Trahan informed the Commission that there was nothing of significance to report about major changes.
Ms. Diaz-Trahan reported the upcoming work on the chicken coop and the adobe making lecture at Steam Pump Ranch. She also indicated items in the bunk house have been removed, cleaned, itemized, and re-inventoried.
