CALL TO ORDER
  Chair Clark called the meeting to order at 6:00 p.m.

CALL TO AUDIENCE
  Chair Clark opened Call to Audience.
No one spoke.

COUNCIL LIAISON COMMENTS
  Council Member Jones-Ivey invited the board to the Naranja Park Groundbreaking on May 31 at 9 a.m. She reported that the council has finished two study sessions and that tomorrow’s meeting will include the renaming of the former Vistoso golf property.  A study session on the Marketplace property is coming soon.
 
             
REGULAR SESSION AGENDA
             
   1. REVIEW AND APPROVAL OF THE MARCH 22, 2022 SPECIAL SESSION MEETING MINUTES
             
  Motion by Member Antonia Landau, seconded by Member Cheryl Horvath to approve the March 22, 2022 Special Session Meeting Minutes of the Parks and Recreation Advisory Board.

  Vote: 5 - 0 Carried

   2. PROGRESS UPDATE, PRESENTATION AND DISCUSSION REGARDING THE ORO VALLEY $25MILLION PARK BOND PROJECT APPROVED BY THE TOWN COUNCIL, RESOLUTION NO. (R)21-47 PM SEPTEMBER 22, 2021
  Ms. Diaz-Trahan gave an update regarding the $25 Million Park Bond Project which included golf courses, tennis courts, CRC parking lot, multi-use paths, and Naranja Park. Questions were asked and answered at each stage of the presentation.
             
   3. PRESENTATION AND DISCUSSION OF THE FISCAL YEAR 2022/2023 PARKS AND RECREATION DEPARTMENT BUDGET
  Ms. Diaz-Trahan gave a presentation which included accomplishments, 22/23 objectives, department budgets, division goals, golf and food and beverage revenue and expenses and concluded with capital improvement projects.
             
   4. DISCUSSION AND POSSIBLE ACTION TO MOVE THE JULY 19, 2022 REGULAR MEETING TO AUGUST 16, 2022
  Ms. Diaz-Trahan explained the reasoning for the rescheduling request.
             
  Motion by Chair Anna Clark, seconded by Member Cheryl Horvath to move the July 19, 2022 meeting to August 16, 2022.

   5. DISCUSSION RELATED TO IDENTIFYING DATES AND TIMES FOR THE PRAB TO PARTICIPATE IN A PARKS AND FACILITY TOUR WITH DIRECTOR DIAZ-TRAHAN
  July 9, July 30 and August 13 in the morning are the tentative tour dates.
             
DEPARTMENT REPORT
  Ms. Diaz-Trahan thanked member Wood for his GPS work at the former Vistoso golf course, Brightview landscaping is finishing up and after that Chair Clark and her dad will spray-paint imperfections. The new name for the property will be announced at tomorrow’s council meeting.  The Town will take ownership of the property after July 1. She gave an update on summer camps, most of which are sold out with waiting lists.  The Riverfront Park concession stand mural project is completed and beautiful. The next Transportation Art by You (TABY) project will be this summer. Kids to Parks Day is this Saturday, movies on the lawn begin this Saturday. June is host to National Men’s health month with promotion and events, the 5K Roundup at the Ranch among other things.  The July 4th celebration at JDK park will feature a laser light show and a Tom Petty cover band.
             
FUTURE AGENDA ITEMS
  Chair Clark asked if a Robert’s Rules of Order training could be added to a future Agenda.  Board Member Landau agreed.

  Motion by Chair Anna Clark, seconded by Member Cheryl Horvath to adjourn at 7:11 p.m.
