MINUTES BUDGET AND FINANCE COMMISSION REGULAR SESSION DECEMBER 13, 2022 COUNCIL CHAMBERS 11000 N. LA CAÑADA DRIVE

REGULAR SESSION AT OR AFTER 4:00 PM

CALL TO ORDER - Chair Solverson called the meeting to order at 4:00 P.M.

Present:	Cathy Solverson, Chair
	Michael Mason, Vice Chair
	James Beasley, Commissioner
Absent:	John Fortunato, Commissioner
Staff Present:	David Gephart, Chief Financial Officer
	Wendy Gomez, Deputy Finance Director
	Chris Hutchison, Senior Budget Analyst
	Tobin Sidles, Legal Services Director
	Joseph Winfield, Mayor

PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE - Chair Solverson led the group in the Pledge of Allegiance.

CALL TO AUDIENCE - No comments were received.

STAFF LIAISON REPORT

Chief Financial Officer David Gephart reported on the following:

- Happy holidays to everyone present.
- This is Cathy and Jim's final Budget and Finance Commission meeting. Their many accomplishments during their tenure are recognized.
- Actuary reports for PSPRS will be available any day now.
- There is a volunteer reception upcoming and the Commission is invited.

REGULAR SESSION AGENDA

REVIEW AND APPROVAL OF THE NOVEMBER 15, 2022 REGULAR SESSION MEETING MINUTES


				Motion by Commissioner James Beasley, seconded by Vice Chair Michael Mason to approve the November 15, 2022 regular session meeting minutes as written.

		Vote: 3 - 0 Carried

	2.	PRESENTATION AND POSSIBLE DISCUSSION OF THE TOWN'S FY 22/23 FINANCIAL UPDATE THROUGH OCTOBER 2022
		Deputy Finance Director Wendy Gomez presented on Agenda Item #2. Discussion ensued amongst staff and commissioners.

COUNCIL LIAISON COMMENTS Mayor Joseph Winfield commented on the following: - The Mayor thanked Cathy and Jim for their service during their tenure on the Budget and Finance Commission. - The volunteer appreciation dinner coming up soon. - Three new members of the Budget and Finance Commission will start at the next meeting. - Cathy and Jim are invited to join the Employee Benefits Trust Board.

FUTURE AGENDA ITEMS - No comments were received.

ADJOURNMENT


				Motion by Chair Cathy Solverson, seconded by Commissioner James Beasley to adjourn the meeting at 4:29 P.M.

Vote: 3 - 0 Carried
