CALL TO ORDER
  Chair Lee called the meeting to order at 5:00 p.m.

CALL TO AUDIENCE
  Chair Lee opened Call to Audience.
Devon Sloan an Oro Valley Resident, spoke regarding designations.
Vicky Tarris an Oro Valley Resident resident, opposed the OVCN rezone.
Chair Lee closed Call to Audience.
 
             
COUNCIL LIAISON COMMENTS
  Council Member Solomon reported that the Council is updating the new 2-year strategic plan.  There is a study session after the Council meeting on Wednesday.  One of the focus areas for this session is Culture and Recreation. The Steam Pump Ranch master plan will be discussed.
             
CONSENT AGENDA
             
   1. Review and approval of the March 6, 2023 Meeting Minutes.
             
  Motion by Chair Auvie Lee, seconded by Commissioner Joan Pliego to approve the March 6, 2023 meeting minutes.

REGULAR SESSION AGENDA
             
   1. DISCUSSION TO IDENTIFY EDUCATION TOPICS FOR CONSIDERATION AT A FUTURE REGULAR MEETING
  Items that were discussed included Presentation on the Charter, exploring the Commission and Oro Valley Historical Society relationship, designate homes by individual homeowners for historical register, a presentation by Charles Hancock regarding the significance of the Buffalo Soldiers at Steam Pump Ranch and the Church of the Nazarene expansion.
             
   2. DISCUSSION AND POSSIBLE ACTION TO ASSIGN INDIVIDUAL COMMISSIONERS SECTIONS OF THE ORO VALLEY CULTURAL HERITAGE PRESERVATION PLAN TO REVIEW AND REPORT THEIR FINDINGS TO THE HISTORIC PRESERVATION COMMISSION AT A FUTURE MEETING
             
  Motion by Chair Auvie Lee, seconded by Vice Chair Puntadeleste Bozeman to assign the following sections and applicable appendices to be reviewed and each presented at a future commission meeting: Vice Chair Bozeman, Section Two Historic Steam Pump Ranch; Commissioner Casaus, Section Six Honey Bee Village Archeological Preserve; Commissioner Paul, Section Five Undeveloped Areas of Town; Commissioner Pliego, Section One Public Participation and Heritage Education; Commissioner Scantlan, Section Three Historic Neighborhoods, Chair Lee, Section Four Town History Records and Reports.

  Vote: 4 - 0 Carried

   3. DISCUSSION AND POSSIBLE ACTION TO SELECT A HISTORIC PRESERVATION COMMISSION MEMBER TO DRAFT A REPORT ON COMMISSION ACTIVITIES FOR SUBMISSION TO THE TOWN COUNCIL AND THE STATE HISTORIC PRESERVATION OFFICE AS PROVIDED IN OVTC § 6-10-5(F)(16)
             
  Motion by Chair Auvie Lee, seconded by Member Ronald Scantlan to assign the Annual Report to Commissioner Paul and that he present the 2022 Annual Report at the December 4, 2023 Meeting.

DEPARTMENT UPDATE
  Mr. Jankowski noted the demolition of the bunkhouses and BBQ has been completed. The project should be fully complete at the end of June.  The CRC hosted a pickleball tournament which attracted over 300 players over a three-day period.  New BBQ grills have been installed at Riverfront and JDK parks.  Honeybee Canyon will receive new signage.  Parks and Recreation are offering 9 camps and registration opened April 3. A reminder that Celebrate Oro Valley is this Saturday, April 8.  There are two concerts this month, April 7 and 28.
             
FUTURE AGENDA ITEMS
  a motion by Vice Chair Bozeman and Second by Commissioner Pliego to secure a presentation by Charles Hancock regarding the significance of the Buffalo Soldiers at Steam Pump Ranch.

  Motion by Chair Auvie Lee, seconded by Member Ronald Scantlan to adjourn at 5:26 p.m.
