MINUTES STORMWATER UTILITY COMMISSION SPECIAL SESSION JUNE 22, 2023 HOPI CONFERENCE ROOM 11000 N. LA CAÑADA DRIVE

SPECIAL SESSION AT OR AFTER 4:00 PM

CALL TO ORDER
Chair Crocker called the meeting to order at 4:05 p.m.

CALL TO AUDIENCE
There were no speaker requests.

COUNCIL LIAISON COMMENTS (INFORMATIONAL ONLY)
Councilmember Greene stated there were no Stormwater Utility updates from the council. Dr. Greene noted the passing of Henry Ziff with the Historical Society. Mr. Ziff's service was commemorated with a tree planted looking at the mountains.

DIRECTORS REPORT (INFORMATIONAL ONLY)
Stormwater Utility Director John Spiker commented on the following:
The Town Council passed the FY23-24 budget on 6/21/23. Stormwater Utility will break out budget items to present them to the Commission for the upcoming FY.
Ventana fire Coronado National forest said the fire has burned about 130 acres and is about 50% contained. Burn area in a previous burn scar.
New OV Town manager Jeff Wilkins started on 6/12/23.

REVIEW AND APPROVAL OF MAY 18, 2023 MEETING MINUTES


				Motion by Commissioner Richard Hawkinson, seconded by Commissioner Gary Mattson to approve the May 18, 2023 meeting minutes as written.

RECOGNITION OF OUTGOING STORMWATER UTILITY COMMISSIONER DAVID PARKER

Stormwater Utility Division Manager John Spiker reviewed Commissioner David Parker's many contributions to the Stormwater Utility.

DISCUSSION OF MEETINGS AND EVENTS

Mr. Spiker reported on recent meetings and events.

PRESENTATION AND DISCUSSION OF ORO VALLEY MONSOON PREPAREDNESS

Stormwater Utility Division Manager John Spiker discussed detailed activities for Monsoon Preparedness that the Utility has engaged in.

PRESENTATION AND DISCUSSION OF STORMWATER UTILITY CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT PROJECT UPDATES - SIERRA WASH AT NARANJA DRIVE AND CATALINA RIDGE WASH DRAINAGE IMPROVEMENTS

The Stormwater Utility Division Manager reviewed the Capital Improvement Projects in the Sierra Wash at Naranja Dr and Catalina Ridge Wash drainage improvements.

				Motion by Commissioner Gary Mattson, seconded by Commissioner Richard Hawkinson to adjourn the meeting.
