CALL TO ORDER
  The meeting was called to order at 5:01 p.m. by Chair Greg Hitt.
             
ROLL CALL

CALL TO AUDIENCE - at this time, any member of the public is allowed to address the Commission on any issue not listed on today’s agenda. Pursuant to the Arizona open meeting law, individual Commission members may ask Town staff to review the matter, ask that the matter be placed on a future agenda, or respond to criticism made by speakers. However, the Commission may not discuss or take legal action on matters raised during "Call to Audience." In order to speak during "Call to Audience", please specify what you wish to discuss when completing the blue speaker card.

REGULAR SESSION AGENDA
             
   1. REVIEW AND APPROVAL OF THE MAY 05, 2023 STUDY SESSION MEETING MINUTES
             
  Motion by Vice Chair Alan Forrest, seconded by Commissioner Clarence Marek to approve the May 5, 2023 Study Session Minutes.

  Vote: 5 - 0 Carried

   2. REVIEW AND APPROVAL OF THE MAY 08, 2023 REGULAR SESSION MEETING MINUTES
             
  Motion by Vice Chair Alan Forrest, seconded by Commissioner David Atler to approve the May 8, 2023 Regular Session minutes.

  Vote: 6 - 0 Carried
             
   3. UPDATE AND DISCUSSION ON WATER CONSERVATION (K. BOYCE)
  Water Conservation Specialist Karn Boyce provided an update on the Water Conservation program and the kids' educational programs.
             
   4. UPDATE AND DISCUSSION ON CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT PROJECTS (L. JACOBS)
  Engineering Division Manager Lee Jacobs provided an update on the following:
  • Rehabilitation of wells E-2 & C-9
  • Nakoma Sky Production Well Equipping
  • Steam Pump Production Well Equipping
  • Palisades Water Distribution Redundancy Project
  • Redundancy Water Line & Pressure Reducing Valve
  • Countryside Wheeling Station Upgrades
  • Rancho Vistoso Booster Station Construction
  • La Canada Booster Station Construction
  • NWRRDS Independent Reservoir & Booster Station Construction
             
   5. UPDATE AND DISCUSSION ON WATER UTILITY FINANCIALS (M. RALLIS)
  Water Utility Administrator Mary Rallis provided an update on the Water Utility Financials. Discussion ensured amongst the commission. 
             
   6. UPDATE AND DISCUSSION ON WATER OPERATIONS ACTIVITIES (D. ALLRED)
  Operations Division Manager David Allred provided an update on the  following:
  • Live demonstration of the new SCADA system
  • Arizona Department of Corrections inmate program
  • Remote Radio Communication upgrade
Discussion ensued amongst the commission, Water Utility Director Peter Abraham and Operations Manager David Allred.

Chuck Stack, EPAC Representative, from Pima Association of Government, spoke to inform the commission of available grants for cybersecurity. 
             
   7. UPDATE AND DISCUSSION ON WATER RESOURCE USAGE (P. ABRAHAM)
  Water Utility Director Peter Abraham provided an update on the water resource usage. Discussion ensued amongst Commissioner Marek, Commissioner Atler, Vice-Chair Forrest and Water Utility Peter Abraham. 
             
   8. UPDATE AND DISCUSSION ON RECLAIMED WATER SYSTEM (P. ABRAHAM)
  Water Utility Director Peter Abraham provided some background information on the reclaimed water system and its use. Discussion ensued amongst the commission and Water Utility Director Peter Abraham.
             
   9. TOWN COUNCIL MEETINGS/COMMUNICATIONS (COUNCILMEMBER BOHEN)
  No comments at this time. 
             
   10. DIRECTOR'S REPORT (P. ABRAHAM)
  Water Utility Director Peter Abraham provided an update on:
  • Upcoming Town Council Meeting
  • Next Water Utility Commission Regular Session 
  • Upper Colorado Basin Snowpack comparison
  • 2023 Colorado snow Water Equivalent
  • Lake Mead reservoir level/status
  • Southern Arizona Water Users Association Event- save the date

  Motion by Vice Chair Alan Forrest, seconded by Commissioner Clarence Marek to adjourn the meeting at 6:20 p.m.

  Vote: 6 - 0 Carried
