CALL TO ORDER

Mayor Winfield called the meeting to order at 6:00 p.m.

Mayor Winfield led the audience in the Pledge of Allegiance.

Town Clerk Mike Standish announced the upcoming Town meetings.

COUNCIL REPORTS

No Council reports were received. 

TOWN MANAGER’S REPORT

Town Manager Mary Jacobs recognized Police Chief Daniel Sharp for his leadership in supporting and advocating for the implementation of Senate Bill 1165 which would prohibit hand held electronic devices while driving. Ms. Jacobs also announced that the Town's 2019 Fourth of July Festival would be moved to James D. Kreigh Park as a result of a cost analysis and the desire for an improved residential experience.  Lastly, Ms. Jacobs introduced Town Clerk Mike Standish who announced that new artwork was on display in the Council Chambers by artist Linda Mann.

Mayor Winfield reviewed the order of business and stated that the order would stand as posted.

Oro Valley resident Timothy Bohen

Oro Valley resident Timothy Bohen voiced his concerns regarding item #4 of the February 5th Planning and Zoning Commission agenda.

Proclamation - Celebrating Oro Valley as a Romantic Destination


Proclamation

Mayor Winfield proclaimed the Month of February, 2019 as Celebrating Oro Valley as a Romantic Destination Month.

Greater Oro Valley Chamber of Commerce President and CEO Dave Perry accepted the proclamation. 

As a follow-up to the proclamation, Mayor Winfield announced the Show us Some Love contest held by the Town of Oro Valley. Participants were asked to submit 100 words on why they thought Oro Valley was a romantic place. The winner would be selected around February 13, 2019.

Chief Financial Officer Stacey Lemos introduced Mr. Corey Arvizu, CPA and Partner with Heinfeld, Meech & Co., P.C.

Mr. Arvizu gave an overview of the process regarding the completed financial audit for the Town for fiscal year ending June 30, 2018.

Discussion ensued amongst Council, staff and Mr. Arvizu regarding the annual financial audit for fiscal year ending June 30, 2018.

MOTION: A motion was made by Councilmember Rodman and seconded by Councilmember Piña to approve Consent Agenda items (A) and (B).
