Parks Recreation Library and Cultural Resources Director reported that the prefabricated restroom is on order and staff is working to get a grading permit. The plans were submitted to Pima County Department of Environmental Quality and they should be returned this week with approval to construct.
No update on the parking facility.
This task will proceed after snake season. The Town will do a preliminary cleaning prior to the inventory.
Vice Chair Guyer distributed a draft proposal of the work plan for FY 12-13 which was completed by the subcommittee. The document includes tasks that the commission wanted to undertake.
Vice Chair Guyer reviewed the document. She explained that the commission members should select items to work on, provide reports at the meetings and work with the chair to be sure items are on the agenda.
Ms. Legner discussed the following:
~ Staff can put together an annual report for review at the September meeting.
~ The Certificate of Occupancy and community outreach will occur no sooner than December 2012.
~ Steam Pump Ranch pump house restoration will have an associated cost.
Commissioner Nagy offered to assist with developing an interpretive plan following obtaining the certificate of occupancy for Steam Pump Ranch.
Ms. Legner pointed out that there is no money budgeted next fiscal year for the pump house restoration. It would require renderings, preservation treatments, etc.
Chair Pullara stated that the two excused commissioners will be informed about the tasks. The items will be assigned at the September meeting.
Ms. Legner reported that the Historic Preservation Commission Subcommittee has reviewed the comments from the Development and Infrastructure Services Department and they will work together to establish language for the plan.
The next meeting is scheduled for September 10, 2012 at 5:00 p.m.
~ Allocating items in the work plan to Historic Preservation Commissioners
~ Member Nagy announced that two Historic Preservation Conference Governor’s Awards will go to Tucson archeologists for their Hohokam culture work.
~ Two additional documents were distributed for the commissioner’s binders.
