Parks & Recreation Director Kristy Diaz-Trahan announced that the conference will be held in Phoenix at the Sheraton Wild Horse Pass Resort. She and Chair Stinnett encouraged the board members to attend. The conference will be hosted by the Hilton El Conquistador in 2015.
Ms. Diaz-Trahan said the kickoff meeting had good results and the survey questions will be finalized this week. Communications will go to the Mayor and Town Council for final review, to be completed by the end of July. On July 10, 2014, there will be a full day opportunity for people to learn about public feedback received. The questionnaire and list of amenities can be found on the Town's website or the public may email comments to Project Manager Nancy Ellis or Contract Manager Don McGann.
Ms. Diaz-Trahan reported fifteen light pole stingers were installed. Staff is in the process of installing the sub-drain system with an underground system, using reclaimed water. Sod will be complete in mid-July.
Member Sutton-Ryan, Member Durfee and Chair Stinnett are on this committee, but Member Durfee resigned from the Board. Chair Stinnett explained the committee meets every other month or once a month. Member Sutton-Ryan and Chair Stinnett met three times and walked Naranja Park. They saw the construction progress and got a feeling for the potential options.
