ROUND UP FOR YOUTH SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM (DISCUSSION AND POSSIBLE ACTION ON EXPANDING THE PROGRAM TO INCLUDE SENIORS 62 AND OLDER) KTD explains that the scholarship program and how they partnered with the water department can round to support the program. Some of the money from the town sponsored runs are contributed. Residents are asking for a senior scholarship fund. Kristy Diaz-Trahan asks the board if that is something we should look at. We use the reduced lunch criteria currently to determine individual need. Chair Adam Wade asks if there is a surplus. Kristy-Diaz Trahan states there is a surplus and we are meeting the demands. Kristy-Diaz-Trahan does not have the how yet. Kristy Diaz-Trahan and her team will do the leg work on how this could take place.

REPORT ON THE NEW MERCADO DEL RIO TRAIL HEAD BY KRISTY DIAZ- TRAHAN (DISCUSSION LIMITED TO INFORMATION AND CLARIFICATION ONLY) Kristy Diaz-Trahan explains how the trail head a project came on board. Kristy Diaz-Trahan showed a map on Google of the trail head. Money is set as side for a drinking fountain. It was explained that this is a long range project and the requirements. One of our long range plans for conectivity to the trail head. Chair Wade asks if their is a restroom plan.

ARIZONA PARKS AND RECREATION ASSOCIATION CONFERENCE OVERVIEW BY KRISTY DIAZ-TRAHAN AND TOM CARLE (DISCUSSION LIMITED TO INFORMATION AND CLARIFICATION ONLY) Kristy Diaz-Trahan states that many from the Town of Oro Valley attended the national Arizona Parks and Recreation Association convention in Phoenix at the Western Kierland. Kristy Diaz-Trahan states it was a good conference. She had all her department heads there. Momentum. Aquatics Manager Brandon Laue was recognized as the young professional of the year. Kristy Diaz-Trahn is now president of the Association. The next conference is in August of 2019. Tom Carle states the interaction with other people there was easier than in the past. There was only one session on boards and commissions. Member Tom Carle says they emphasized dealing with the millennial's. Chair Wade asks if there will be anymore new boards and commissions. Using task forces instead was discussed.
