COUNCIL LIAISON COMMENTS

Council Member Joe Hornat reviewed the success of the Oro Valley Children's Museum and the ribbon cutting ceremonies for the new Town of Oro Valley Community Center and golf center. The Kai property General Plan Amendment, is coming back to council. They've taken out the apartments and increased the buffers to the west. They capped some of the housing numbers to 500, unless the commercial area does not develop they may use the area for medium density residential housing. There is a condition there can be no fabric stores. Council has reviewed the budget in two special sessions and will have a final meeting on May 20th. The budget should be passed June 3rd.  The new AMPHI school that was to be built next year in Rancho Vistoso has been postponed for a year, the school does not think they have enough money to staff the new school. Recall petitions have been submitted they have been sent to the County recorder. The recorder will go over each signature within the next 60 days.
