APPROVAL OF THE OCTOBER 28, 2010 MINUTES

 
MOTION: A motion was made by Commissioner Stein and seconded by Commissioner Honn to Approve the October 28, 2010 minutes.

Motion carried, 5-0.

5.

UPCOMING MEETINGS AND EVENTS

 
-Farmer’s Market scheduled December 4, 2010 from 9:00 am - 1:00 pm.
-Buffelgrass Pull scheduled December 4, 2010 from 7:00 am - 10:00 am.
-Reminder and request to attend Volunteer Appreciation Award Ceremony on December 9, 2010 and RSVP by December 6th.
-County-wide Beat Back Buffelgrass Day; February5, 2011.  Refer to www.pagnet.com for more information.

UPDATE ON TECHNICAL PRESENTATION TOPICS

 
-Bayer Vella is scheduled to present on conservation and sustainability at the January 20, 2011 meeting, reserved in the Hopi Room.
-FEMA Community Rating System.  Commission expressed interest; staff presentation will be added to the December agenda. 
 
7.

REVIEW STORM WATER CREDIT APPLICATIONS

 
Reminder sent to Casas Adobes, due by December 3, 2010.
 
8.

DISCUSS STORM WATER FEE

 
-Council approved the revised ordinance for SW collection fees.
-Ordinance modifications to privacy procedures will be on the January 2011 Council agenda.
-Commercial accounts need to be updated.
 
9.

DISCUSS ON-GOING STORM WATER PROJECTS / PERFORMANCE CHART

 
-Handout on performance chart distributed, reviewed and discussed.
-Visual map to discuss hot spot projects.  Staff will email Commissioners a copy of the map.
-Staff proposing Commissioners to help develop/update performance objectives.  Commissioners volunteered, will schedule a special work study before the next meeting.

-Handout on projects distributed, reviewed and discussed. 
-Lomas de Oro/Lucero Wash - work expected to start Jan. 2011.
-Magee/Northern sediment cleanup - placing temporary sediment basin will be fixed under the RTA La Canada project.
-Mosquito testing/trapping completed - Pima Co. had no reported human cases.
-Flood insurance maps - will have FEMA letter of determination by Dec. 16, 2010 to be effective June 16, 2011.

SET DECEMBER MEETING DATE/TIME

 
The next SWUC meeting is scheduled for December 16, 2010 at 4:00 p.m. in the Calle Concordia conference room.
 
11.

SET DECEMBER PROPOSED AGENDA ITEMS

 
The agenda for the upcoming meeting was discussed and approved.  Commission requested to change item 7 from review to approve.

MOTION: A motion was made by Commissioner Honn and seconded by Commissioner Leonhart to Adjourn the meeting at 4:55 p.m.
