MINUTES ORO VALLEY PLANNING AND ZONING COMMISSION REGULAR SESSION January 16, 2024 ORO VALLEY COUNCIL CHAMBERS 11000 N. LA CAÑADA DRIVE

SPECIAL SESSION AT OR AFTER 6:00 PM

CALL TO ORDER

Interim Chair Clark called the meeting to order at 6:00 p.m.

	William Thomas, Commissioner
	Sandra Wilson, Commissioner
	Philip Zielinkski, Commissioner
Staff Present:	Michael Spaeth, Principal Planner
	Joe Andrews, Chief Civil Deputy Attorney

Commissioner Kellar attended via Zoom.

PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE

Interim Chair Clark led the Commission and audience in the Pledge of Allegiance.

CALL TO AUDIENCE

There were no speaker requests.

COUNCIL LIAISON COMMENTS

Council Liaison Melanie Barrett provided an update on recent and upcoming Town Council agenda items related to Planning.

SPECIAL SESSION AGENDA

ELECTION OF CHAIR FOR THE PLANNING AND ZONING COMMISSION


				Motion by Commissioner Joe Nichols, seconded by Commissioner William Thomas to nominate Anna Clark to serve as Chair for the Planning and Zoning Commission.

				Vote: 7 - 0 Carried

	2.			ELECTION OF THE VICE CHAIR FOR THE PLANNING AND ZONING COMMISSION


				Motion by Commissioner Philip Zielinkski, seconded by Commissioner Joe Nichols to nominate Kimberly Outlaw Ryan to serve as Vice Chair.

				Vote: 7 - 0 Carried

	3.			REVIEW AND APPROVAL OF THE DECEMBER 5, 2023 REGULAR SESSION MEETING MINUTES


				Motion by Commissioner Philip Zielinkski, seconded by Commissioner Kimberly Outlaw Ryan to approve the December 5, 2023 meeting minutes as written.

		Vote: 7 - 0 Carried

	4.	STUDY SESSION: PRESENTATION AND DISCUSSION REGARDING A POTENTIAL ZONING CODE AMENDMENT REGARDING VEHICLE STORAGE FACILITIES
		Planner Alex Chavez provided a presentation that included the following: - Purpose - Key Zoning definitions - Vehicle storage facilities - Existing code - Research - Potential vehicle storage facilities code amendments - Discussion and feedback Discussion ensued among the Commission and staff.

PLANNING UPDATE (INFORMATIONAL ONLY) Principal Planner Michael Spaeth provided an updated on the next Commission meeting agenda.

ADJOURNMENT


				Motion by Commissioner William Thomas, seconded by Commissioner Kimberly Outlaw Ryan to adjourn the meeting.

Chair Clark adjourned the meeting at 6:32 p.m.
