CALL TO ORDER
  Chair Gary Temple called the meeting to order at 6:00 p.m.

CALL TO AUDIENCE
  Oro Valley resident Nancy Fulkerson voiced her concerns regarding the Vistoso Golf Course

Oro Valley resident Kurt Campbell voiced his concerns regarding the dirt road located at Naranja Park

Oro Valley resident Dick Augur spoke regarding the need for the game of Bridge opportunities in Oro Valley

Oro Valley resident Gayle Mateer voice her concerns regarding input from Rancho Vistoso residents regarding the Rancho Vistoso Golf Course

Oro Valley resident Kristen Berg voice her concerns regarding access to Naranja Park

Oro Valley resident Sharon Jarvis spoke in support of keeping the Rancho Golf Course as recreation space
             
COUNCIL LIAISON COMMENTS
  Council Liaison Joyce Jones-Ivey reported that Kara Riley had been selected as the new Oro Valley Chief of Police. Ms. Jones-Ivey also reported that the Town has selected a new Chief Financial Officer. 

Ms. Jones-Ivey reported that the Town was in the process of updating their website and the beta-testing site was operator friendly and nice.
             
BOARD MEMBER REPORTS
  There were no Board Member reports.
             
SPECIAL SESSION AGENDA
             
   1. REVIEW AND APPROVAL OF THE NOVEMBER 19, 2019 REGULAR SESSION MEETING MINUTES
 
             
  Motion by Vice Chair Gary Temple, seconded by Member Philip Saletta to approve the November 19, 2019 regular session minutes.

  Vote: 7 - 0 Carried
             
   2. PRESENTATION AND DISCUSSION OF FINAL NARANJA PARK PLAYGROUND CONCEPTUAL DESIGN
  Parks and Recreation Director Kristy Diaz-Trahan provided a brief history regarding  the conceptual design for Naranja Park. Ms. Diaz-Trahan introduced Chris Stevie with Norris Designs. Mr. Stevie provided information regarding design concepts, surveys and how the results from the survey information was reflected in the final playground design. 

Discussion ensued amongst the PRAB members, staff and Mr. Stevie. 
             
   3. DISCUSSION OF THE PRESENTATION PROVIDED BY JERRY PERRY WITH PUSCH RIDGE ARCHERY GROUP AT THE PARKS AND RECREATION ADVISORY BOARD MEETING THAT TOOK PLACE ON SEPTEMBER 17, 2019 REGULAR SESSION
  Discussion ensued amongst the PRAB members and staff regarding  Naranja Park Archery Range requests.

Park and Recreation Director Kristy Diaz-Trahan provided an overview of requests for the Naranja Park Archery Range and reported that the Town is awaiting the results of a grant from the Arizona Game and Fish Department. Fruition of requests would be based on grant approval. 
             
   4. UPDATE AND DISCUSSION ON THE PARKS AND RECREATION NEEDS ASSESSMENT AND MASTER PLAN PROJECT
  Parks and Recreation Director Kristy provided an overview of the Parks and Recreation Needs Assessment and Master Plan Project and included the following:
 
  • Mail in survey 
  • Survey results posted on website
  • Volunteers for table events

Discussion ensued amongst PRAB members and staff. 
             
   5. ELECTION OF THE 2020 PRAB CHAIR AND VICE CHAIR
             
  Motion by Member Joseph Coyle, seconded by Member Philip Saletta to nominate Gary temple for PRAB Chair.

  Vote: 7 - 0 Carried
  Members Anna Clark and Philip Saletta were nominated for Vice-Chair.
             
  Motion by Member Charles Cachoeira, seconded by Member Joseph Coyle to approve Anna Clark as Vice Chair

  Vote: 4 - 3 Carried
 
OPPOSED: Member Philip Saletta
  Member Ronald Odell
  Vice Chair Gary Temple
             
   6. DEPARTMENT REPORT
  Kristy Diaz-Trahan provided the following information:
 
  • The new Town web page went live on April 1, 2020
  • The golf course management RFP was posted
  • Angle of Hope Project is pending family availibility
  • Move Across Two Ranges was held on Saturday, February 29th
  • A large swim meet was held at the Oro Valley Aquatics Center March 5th through 8th
  • Steam Pump Ranch Second Saturdays
  • Spring break camps
  • Bike Sell and Swap held at Steam Pump Ranch
  • Celebrate Oro Valley was held on April 11th
  • An Arbor day event was held on March 25th
             
FUTURE AGENDA ITEMS
  There were no future agenda items requested.
             
ADJOURNMENT
  The meeting was adjourned by Vice-Chair Gary Temple at 7:18 p.m.
